APPSC Group 2 Hall Ticket 2024, Prelims Exam Date & Pattern

The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) is going to conduct a written examination for various Group 2 Executive & Non-Executive posts. The selection board is planning to fill a total of 897 vacancies through this recruitment process. These posts include Deputy Tehsildar, Assistant Commercial Tax Officer, Assistant Labour Officer, Extension Officer, and others.

The Preliminary examination is scheduled to be organised on 25 February 2024. Aspirants will get their APPSC Group 2 Hall Ticket at least a week before the exam date. The online application process was conducted from 21 December 2023 to 10 January 2024, and a large number of candidates applied for these posts. The exam organisation has now moved to the next phase of the recruitment process, i.e., conducting the preliminary examination. The APPSC Group 2 Prelims Exam is scheduled for 25 February 2024. All those candidates who qualify for the preliminary examination will be eligible to appear for the main exam. 

APPSC Group 2 Selection Process, Paper Pattern

The APPSC Group 2 Recruitment 2024 selection process involves multiple stages to assess the candidates’ suitability for various executive and non-executive positions in Andhra Pradesh state government departments.

Preliminary Exam

The preliminary exam serves as a screening test to shortlist candidates for the main exam. It is an objective type exam that evaluates candidates’ knowledge in general studies and mental ability. The marks obtained in the prelims are not considered for the final merit list; it is solely for qualifying purposes to progress to the mains exam.

  • Mode: Offline (OMR based)
  • Type: Objective Type Examination
  • Number of Questions: 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Sections: General Studies and Mental Ability
  • Negative Marking: ⅓rd marks are deducted for each wrong answer
  • Duration: 150 minutes (2.5 hours)

Mains Exam

This is the second and most important stage of the selection process. The main exam comprises objective-type questions, and the performance in this stage is considered for the final merit list. The exam tests candidates’ knowledge in various subjects relevant to the state and national level.

  • Mode: Offline (OMR based)
  • Type: Objective Type Examination
  • Papers: 2 Papers, each carrying 150 marks
  • Sections: Paper 1 covers the Social History of Andhra Pradesh and the Indian Constitution, while Paper 2 deals with Indian and AP Economy and Science & Technology.
  • Number of Questions: 300 (150 in each paper)
  • Negative Marking: One-third of marks are deducted for every wrong answer
  • Duration: Each paper is for 150 minutes

Computer Proficiency Test

Candidates who qualify in the mains exam must appear for the Computer Proficiency Test. This practical test assesses candidates’ skills in using computers and associated software, crucial for modern administrative functions.

  • Type: Practical Exam
  • Parts: 2 Parts focusing on different areas of computer skills
  • Marks: 100
  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: It is important to note that the minimum qualifying marks for SC/ST/PH is 30, for BC is 35, and for Other Categories is 40.

After downloading the hall ticket, thoroughly check all the details mentioned. If you find any discrepancies or errors, contact the APPSC authorities immediately for corrections.

The hall ticket will also include important instructions for the exam day, such as the reporting time, items allowed inside the exam centre, and guidelines, if any. Make sure to read and follow these instructions carefully.

  4. After logging in successfully, your Hall Ticket will be displayed on the screen.
  5. Finally, download the hall ticket and take a printout.
  6. Ensure that the details on the hall ticket, such as your name, photograph, signature, and other information, are correct and visible.
